You walk down your office corridor and your colleagues stop and look. Is it that hairdo that you got yesterday, or the fragrance that you wear, or is it those shoes, or may be that dress? Well, it’s the style that you carry, the attitude that you hold, it’s YOU!
People may forget what you talked about, what you thought or even what your name was. What they would certainly remember is the wave of style that followed you, what you wore that day, and how nice you looked.
Remember that girl from college whom you totally hated, because she never really made sense when she talked, never was attending classes, but the point here is, you remember her. The reason being, she had that style, that definition that you somehow, no matter how unintentionally!, still have in your mind.
That’s what style does to you and the people around you.
When talking about being stylish, it is nowhere intended to mean to get decked up, where those high heels, those oversized accessories, and be uncomfortable to the core. Style is the way you feel about yourself, the confidence that you carry, the personality that you reflect, and how beautiful you can make anything look when you put it on. Like Yves Saint Laurent said,
“Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.”
Women and aestheticism have a relationship that dates back really long. Remember just how perfect your grandmother looked in that simple cotton saree, or just how beautiful your mother looks in her wedding pictures with almost negligible make-up and jewelry. When you no more care what you’re wearing or how you look, and still feel good about it, that when you’re stylish. You may adorn all that shimmer, all that matte, style is when you show it!!!
